This class is for complete beginners or for crocheters looking for a refresh on the fundamentals! In this class you will learn how to make a slip knot, make a chain, turn your work, make a single crochet, double crochet and half double crochet. You will also learn how to read your work so you can confidently begin and complete your first project!
This class is offered in two formats:
For the ultimate Beginner, you’ll be provided with 1 skein of Cascade 220 Superwash yarn in the color of your choice, size H/5mm crochet hook, and a tapestry/darning needle. If this appeals to you, select the ‘Kit Included’ option.
If you already have yarn and hooks, you can opt to sign up by selecting ‘Instruction Only’.
Can you take this class with a friend? Absolutely! Select ‘2’ when adding the class to your basket. Although the system allows you to sign up more than 2 people, we allow a maximum of 2 people per class so as to give each student the utmost attention. You’re welcome to sign up more than 2 people during check out, but we’ll ask that you enroll in separate sessions with a maximum of 2 students for each session when we email to arrange scheduling.
We’ll meet at Gorges Fiber Arts located at 195 Main Street in Historic downtown Owego, NY.

Saturdays from 10:30am - 12:00pm
Classes are taught one-on-one, unless you sign up with a friend!
The class meets for one and a half hours for 2 consecutive weeks. You’ll need time to practice your skills for a week before moving on to crocheting your headband. After signing up you’ll get an email from the instructor to confirm the day and time you’d like to come in for the class, please be sure to allow emails from: charitypettydesigns@gmail.com.
If you need additional help after the class, just give us a call to see if one of our crochet experts is available at the shop to assist you!
